In upcoming life of human being on this beautiful earth a lot of viruses are attacking and affecting many human's life. Recently a new virus came into picture that name is Nipah Virus. 

Due to this Nipah Virus 2 suspected patients die in Calicut. These patients was admitted in a private hospital in Kerala.

Many other patients test result will be out tomorrow.

The Nipah virus is a zoonotic virus, this means that it can be transmitted from animals to humans. Bats are considered the natural reservoir of Nipah virus, but it can also infect other animals like pigs.
 
According to the World Health Organization ( WHO ) this dangerous virus infection can cause symptoms like  including fever, headache, muscle pain, respiratory symptoms, nausea, vomiting, and altered mental status. 

Humans can become infected by direct contact with infected animals or through consumption of contaminated food products.

The first NiV confirmed in  South India and reported from Kozhikode in May 2018. 
The second case came into picture that was reported in 2019 at Ernakulam.

The symptoms of Nipah virus infection can vary, but they often include:

  • Fever
  • Headache
  • Muscle pain
  • Fatigue
  • Respiratory symptoms (cough, shortness of breath)
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Sore throat
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Altered mental status (confusion, disorientation)
  • Seizures
  • Coma
